Cranial Nerves Manipulations


Educational Goals


Cranial osteopathic techniques favor manipulations of sutures and intracranial membranes. It is undeniable that they are effective. However in the perspective of a neuro-meningeal dynamics, more global, we cannot neglect the brain and its anatomical expansions that constitutes the entire network of cranial nerves.


We will see together the manipulation of the cranial nerves, where they are accessible. In this way, it is possible to perform a fine equilibration of the disorders deeply affecting the craniosacral system.

A good part of our effects are on the many mechanoreceptors and nociceptors that participate, among other things, in the sensitivity of the falx cerebri, of the tentorium cerebelli, of the dura mater and of cranial sutures.

The Brain Is Also Very Sensitive To Variations Of Local Pressure. We Will Also Study Brain Listening Techniques And Manipulations That Address To Cerebral Viscoelasticity By Oriented Modifications Of  Intracranial Pressure.

  • Facial Nerve (CN VII)
  • Vagus Nerve (CN X)
  • Hypoglossal Nerve (CN XII) …


For each nerve studied, the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects will be considered, as well as the clinical implications and the interest of the manipulation of each nerve.


The purpose of this seminar is to learn to address to the content rather than the cranial container, by specific manipulations focused on the neurological elements.
