Many patients are referred for chronic inflammation. Treatment cannot be based solely on NSAIDs, analgesics or structural osteopathy. It must also include a causal approach.
Dysbiosis is probably the most common cause of chronic inflammation. This is a microbiota imbalance that occurs when dominant beneficial species become under-represented and undesirable species (which are normally contained) increase to fill the gap.
Dysbiosis may be due to low diversity leading to metabolic syndrome, mechanical joint pain and vascular disease.
Dysbiosis can be due to an excess of aggressive bacteria or uncontrolled chronic viral infections leading to oligo-arthritis or autoimmune diseases (spondylarthrosis, psoriasis, Crohn’s disease, etc…).
The different types and causes of dysbiosis will be explained.
Their consequences (leaky gut, vagal disorders, chronic inflammation of gums, brain, joints, skin, liver, pancreas, etc.) will be detailed.
General approaches (e.g., diet, dietary supplements, physical activities and vagal electrostimulation) and the theory of stretching to repair the vagal nerve will be developed.
