Morphodynamics and osteopathy – Rudiger Goldenstein DO

Aeroparc Gilze-Rijen Koffie/thee, lunch & syllabus English

This course introduces fundamental principles of human development and explores how insights from evolution, embryology, and mechanobiology can support osteopathic diagnosis and treatment.

Starting from embryological developmental patterns, the course explains how structure and function in the human organism are inseparably connected. Particular attention is given to the form-generating forces of the body—mechanical, fluidic, and bioelectrical processes—already described by Erich Blechschmidt and further investigated today in the field of mechanobiology.

A central component of the course is practical application. Participants will learn to palpate morphodynamic principles and to integrate them into osteopathic diagnostic reasoning and therapeutic strategies.

The introductory course focuses on fundamental principles of biological pattern formation, including:

  • Polarity
  • Axis formation
  • Symmetry and asymmetry
  • Laterality
  • Rhythm
  • Resonance

The theoretical concepts are deepened through practical exercises, training of palpatory perception, and guided treatment sequences. In addition, the course provides an outlook on further topics, particularly the development from the three germ layers and osteopathic treatment approaches derived from these developmental processes.

Dr. med. Rüdiger Goldenstein is a specialist in orthopaedics and osteopath with an MSc in Pediatric Osteopathy (DO, DAAO; DPO). He also holds additional qualifications in acupuncture, manual medicine/chiropractic, physical therapy, technical orthopaedics, and atlas therapy.

Since 1990, he has trained in various complementary therapeutic approaches, with a primary focus on osteopathy since 2002. His work particularly emphasizes pediatric osteopathy and morphodynamic osteopathy.

Dr. Goldenstein served for many years as Chairman of the German Society for Pediatric Osteopathy. He is the co-author of several publications, including Pediatric Osteopathy, Foundation of Morphodynamics in Osteopathy, and Fascia in the Osteopathic Field, and co-editor of Osteopathy from A–Z.

He is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer, known for his work and teaching on morphodynamic concepts in osteopathy.
